If you do have metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance (but you probably won’t know it yourself, it is a pre-diabetes syndrome), you will be unable to build muscles and lose weight.  I see those people at gym everyday, and they have not got any results after doing it for years, some of them even over ten years.

I also see people doing wrong at gym everyday. and they are not getting the results to build muscles either, because of ineffective exercises, although they work very hard and sweat a lot :-) instead, they are at high risk of getting injuries.

There are so many people who failed in their weight loss because they did not have a system to help them to do so.  They failed because they did not have the knowledge,  the skills and the tools of fat loss.  They did not know exactly what weight loss is about (it can be muscle loss).  Weight loss must be fat loss – lose body fat not lose muscle.

They did not know how to lose weight or lose body fat and had been fooled by some exciting words or false promises. They were lost on their journey, frustrated and depressed – some of them are unable to lose weight and some of them regained the weight they lost.  Do you want the same results?   or do you want to lose some weight of muscles?  Certainly not!  You want to lose some weight of FAT! :-)

Atkins For Life? How Long Should You Stay On the Atkins Diet?

The Atkins Diet was designed by Dr. Robert Atkins in the 1970s. He designed the diet to followed forever. That is, the diet is more of a lifestyle than a fad diet. The Dr. was a proponent of ketogenic fat burning. This is accomplished by consuming few than 40 grams of carbohydrate daily. He also suggested using dietary supplements to maintain nutrition within the body’s systems.

The Atkins Diet has 4 stages: the Induction Diet, the Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) Diet, the Pre-Maintenance Diet, and lastly the Lifetime Maintenance Diet.

The Induction diet is very strict as far as carb elimination (20 grams or less per day), but generous in the allowance of fat and protein. It should be noted that low starch vegetables are the recommended source of carbs. This phase of the diet lasts 14 days and is followed by the Ongoing Weight Loss diet (OWL).

The OWL phase allows for the reintroduction of certain good carbs but the levels are kept below 40 grams a day. Dieters stay on OWL until they reach their ideal weight. Once the ideal weight is reached dieters transition into the Pre-Maintenance diet, where they experiment with reintroducing certain good carbs until they discover their carb tolerance level (the total carb grams they can consume in a day and not gain weight).

When dieters finally comprehend the total number of grams of carbs they can consume and maintain their ideal weight they’ve reach Lifetime Maintenance. Here the participants will continually avoid processed foods, sugar, white flour, and hydrogenated oils and fats.
